U18 WABA Championship: Yemen edge Jordan to open win count in Tehran

Yemen U18 - Jordan U18 65:54

Yemen recorded their initial win at the U18 WABA Championship in Iran. They overcame Jordan to climb at 1-1 record in the ladder. Aiman Sadakh (186-F-94) scored 19 points and pulled down 18 rebounds to pace the winners. Jordan fell at 0-2 record after the loss.
Jordan led by a single point 18:17 after ten minutes. However Yemen used a 12:0 run late in the first half to establish a 38:23 lead. They maintained it well throughout the third term. Yemen arrived at the final break up by 10 points 48:38. Jordan got within 6 points midway through the final stanza but Jordan stayed calm and determined and eked out an important win at the end. Mohammed Qasem knocked down 13 points, while Abdulfattah Al-Qasi had 12 points in the victory. Hazem Algum responded with 15 points for Jordan. Yousef Al-Awamleh had 14 points and 16 rebounds in the loss.
