Philippines finished the U18 Asia Championship in the fifth position. They shot down hosting Yemen on the final day of the tournament. Joshua Angelo Alolino (181-G-94) produced 18 points and 8 assists to lead the winners.
Philippines turned out to have more energy for the final game. They grabbed control right from the start. Yemen accounted for only 10 points in the first period allowing their opponents to clear off. Philippines posted a 22:10 advantage at the first break. Philippines opened the second term on a 10:2 run to boost the lead. They controlled the tempo and piled up a comfortable 47:26 halftime advantage. The visitors continued to dictate the rhythm in the third stanza. They fired 34 points to accumulate a massive 43-point lead heading into the final quarter. Yemen managed ten points in the fourth stanza and had to give up at the end.
Kiefer Isaac Ravena (181-G/F-93) and Raphael Banal (186-G-92) nailed 15 points each for Philippines. Cris Michael Tolomia (191-G-93) and Jeth Troy Rosario (200-C-92) had 10 points each in the victory. Sabri Sadaqah (188-F-93) notched 16 points for Yemen. Abdulaziz Moqbel (188-F-93) chipped in 9 points in defeat.
