Iran complete semifinal picture in Yemen

Iran U18 - Yemen U18 80:45

Iran became the fourth semifinalists at the U18 Asia Championship. They silenced hosting Yemen for the spot in the semis. Sajjad Mashayekhi (180-G-94) tallied 21 points, 6 boards and 4 assists to pace the winners. Iran will now take on undefeated China tomorrow.
The teams traded baskets throughout the opening quarter. Neither side was able to clear off. Iran and Yemen entered the second quarter tied at 16. Iran opened the frame with eight points in a row to finally break in charge. Iran gradually took over and rolled to a 38:25 lead at halftime. Yemen struggled to pick up their offensive rhythm in the third term. Iran capitalized piling up a comfortable 21-point lead. The visitors stretched it to 23 points at the final intermission 56:33. Offensive woes continued for the home side in the final quarter. Yemen accounted for only 12 points and had to surrender at the end.
Mirfattahi Mirmohammad (93) contributed 16 points and 8 rebounds for Iran. Shahbaznejadkanzagh Reza (92) accounted for 10 points in the win. Samer Abdullah (92) answered with 13 points for Yemen. Sabri Sadaqah (188-F-93) finished with 11 points in the loss.
