Yemen U18 - Syria U18 67:62

Yemen completed the quarterfinal picture at the U18 Asia Championship. The hosts of the tournament held off Syria to climb at 3-2 record in the third place in Group F. Yemen will take on Iran in the quarterfinal on Wednesday. Syria will play for the 9th-12th place. They are scheduled to face Malaysia next.
Yemen dominated in the opening frame. Their defense worked smoothly as Syria accounted for only 5 points in ten minutes and faced a massive 19-point deficit. The second quarter however belonged to Syria. They exploded with 24 points and cut the margin to only 6 points at halftime. Yemen returned into the drivers seat in the third term. They earned an 11-point advantage at the final intermission. Syria got closer late in regulation but Yemen stayed calm and drove to the win at the end. Mohamed Yaeesh scored 25 points to lead Yemen. Samer Abdullah (92) added 20 points and 16 rebounds in the victory. Obida Al Samman (184-F-92) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds for Syria. Muhammad Otabachi (192-F-92) delivered 14 points in defeat.
