Yemeni U18 selection posted the second straight win at the Asia Championship. The hosts battered India for 2-0 record in Group D. India suffered the second loss in a row. Mohammed Yaeesh (182-G-93) and Sabri Sadaqah (188-F-93) came up with 27 points apiece for Yemen in the victory.
Yemen limited their opponents to 13 points in the first quarter to step in front. The home team posted an 18:13 advantage after ten minutes. Yemen went on a 16:3 run at the start of the second frame to stretch the gap. The hosts controlled the tempo and secured a 46:22 lead at the interval. Yemen stayed aggressive defensively in the third stanza. India did not get open looks and had to deal with a 33-point deficit at the final break. Yemen did not slow down in the fourth stanza and rolled to the victory at the end.
Samer Abdullah (92) accounted for 18 points and 8 rebounds in the win. Abdulaziz Moqbel (188-F-93) contributed 14 points and 15 rebounds for Yemen. Arjun Singh (188-F-92) replied with 27 points for India. Rajan Sharma (184-G-92) had 8 points in defeat.
