(Jo-Basket.com) The West Asian Basketball Association (WABA) announced the calendar of its basketball events for the new year 2010 in an official statement yesterday.
The first event for WABA will be the 13th Clubs Championship which was moved from Esfahan to Tehran, Iran in the period between the 8th and the 16th of March, Ten teams will participate in this event (Two from Jordan, Two from Syria, Two from Lebanon, Two from Iran, One from Yemen and One from Iraq), 4 teams from 4 different countries will qualify to the 21st Asian Clubs Championship in Doha, Qatar from the 22nd to the 30th of May.
Bieirut, The capital city of Lebanon will host the 11th WABA Under-18 Championship on the 12th of April until the 18th of the same month, The qualification to the FIBA Asia U-18 Chamoionship (22 September - 1 October) to 3 teams beside Yemen who will host the Asian event.
Iraq will be back on the map when they will organize the 10th WABA Men Championship in Duhok City from the 5th to the 11th of June, Four teams from this event will be promoted to play in the 3rd FIBA Asia Stankovic Cup in Beirut, Lebanon (7-15 August).
The Calendar also noted that Erbil city in Iraq will hold the 3rd WABA Clubs Championship for Women from the 17th to 23rd of July.
In other FIBA Asia events, The 20th Under-18 Championship for Women will be held in Thailand (23-30 June) which gives qualification to two teams to Under-19 World Championship 2011.
The basketball tournament in the Asian Games (12-27 November) will be in Guangzhou, China.
