Malek Green was awarded player of the week yesterday having an unbelievable 39 points in his last game in the Catfish

This was an impressive game for American Malek Green (201-F-1999, college: YSU) as the 26 year old forward had 39 points a second highest in the world when his team the Catfish beat the Wings 71 to 64. On top of that he also recorded 18 rebounds that evening. He is the best scorer in the league averaging over 34 points and over 15 rebounds per game. As evident, the league is predominantly led by former college players, with 8 out of the 10 scorers having graduated from US schools.
He is a very experienced player. Green has played also professionally in Croatia, Luxembourg (Sparta), United Kingdom and The Basketball Tournament (B.Braun Sheffield Sharks).
Among many awards his team made it to the British BBL Trophy Semifinals in 2024. He was also selected as the All-MAAC Sixth Player of the Year back in 2021 during his college time. Green was selected to the Eurobasket.com British BBL All-Imports Team in 2024. He was also selected to the Eurobasket.com All-British BBL Second Team in 2024. Green was selected to the All-MAAC Third Team back in 2021.
He was awarded Player of the Week in the Vietnamese League 4 times already this season.
