Edo number one in Vietnam VBA for round 6

American Forward Karachi Edo (196-F-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for Danang Dragons, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 25 rebounds, while his team edged out Heat (#2, 6-4) 85-83. Thanks to this victory Dragons moved-up to the 5th position in Vietnamese VBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Dragons will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. Edo has many years of experience at Dragons, through which he has constantly improved. Former Fresno State University star has very solid stats this year. Edo is in league's top in points (3rd best: 23.7ppg), rebounds (4th best: 15.6rpg) and averages impressive 1.3bpg,51.4% FGP and 44.0% from behind 3-point line. Worth to mention Edo played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Darrius Austin (201-F/C-1998) of Ho Chi Minh City Wings. Austin had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Wings lost that game 72-96 to slightly higher-ranked Islanders (#6, 2-6). City Wings are still at the very bottom. 9 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Austin is one of the most experienced players at City Wings and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. Former Feather River College star Austin is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Alfred Hollins (198-F-1999) of league's second-best Saigon Heat. Hollins got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds . He was a key player of Heat, leading his team to a 80-68 win against the lower-ranked Dragons (#5, 4-3). Heat needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 4 lost games. Hollins has a great season in Vietnam. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (5th best). Hollins attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

8. Davon Dillard (196-SG-1996) of Heat - 24 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Jermale Jones (185-G-1986) of Islanders - 24 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Mike Tolomia (191-G-1993) of Islanders - 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
