Malek Green gets MVP of the Week award for Vietnamese VBA

American Malek Green (201-F-1999) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best Can Tho Catfish and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 39 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Heat (#5, 3-2) 98-90. Catfish is placed at 2nd position in Vietnamese VBA. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Catfish will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. In the team's last game Green had a remarkable 54.8% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Catfish, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Youngstown State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Green is league's best scorer averaging so far 34.8ppg. Green is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 14.8rpg) and averages solid 56.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Karachi Edo (196-F-1994) of Danang Dragons. Edo impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 20 rebounds. Of course he led Dragons to another comfortable win outscoring City Wings (#7, 0-6) 113-87. This victory allowed Dragons to move up to 4th position in the standings. His team's 3-2 record is not bad at all. Edo is one of the most experienced players at Dragons and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.2ppg (#7). He also registered 13.4 boards per game. Fresno State University alumni Edo played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was American Darrius Austin (201-F/C-1998) of Ho Chi Minh City Wings (#7). Austin scored 20 points and grabbed 26 rebounds (!!!). Despite Austin's great performance the Wings lost 87-113 to the higher-ranked Dragons (#4, 3-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. City Wings can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 6 games. Austin has individually a great season in Vietnam. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 18.0rpg (3rd best). He also has 1.5bpg and a FGP of 64.1%. Austin attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
