Johnson's 49-point game gives him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

30-year old American point guard Taishaun Johnson (183-PG-1994) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Hanoi Buffaloes and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had the game-high 49 points adding nine rebounds and four assists for Buffaloes in his team's victory, helping them to beat Dragons (#6, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 132-121. It allowed Buffaloes to consolidate first place in the Vietnamese league. The season is still on an early stage, but Buffaloes already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Johnson had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Buffaloes, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Prairie View A&M University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Johnson is in league's top in points (3rd best: 28.5ppg), assists (7th best: 4.8apg) and averages solid 54.0% FGP. Worth to mention Johnson played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

Second best performed player last round was Alioune Tew (204-C-1992, agency: HB-Spain) of V Islanders. He is French center in his first season at Islanders. In the last game Tew recorded an impressive double-double of 26 points and 29 rebounds. Bad luck as Islanders lost that game 97-109 to Buffaloes (4-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Tew is one of the most experienced players at Islanders and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.5ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 25.0rpg and 3.5apg.

Third place about best performers goes to another Buffaloes' star - forward Hassan Thomas (203-F-1996). Thomas got into 30-points club by scoring 37 points in the last round. He went also for twenty three rebounds . He was another key player of Hanoi Buffaloes, helping his team with a 132-121 win against Dragons (#6, 0-2). Buffaloes started extremely well this year. They recorded 4 victories without losing a single game. Thomas turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Thomas has a great season in Vietnam. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.8rpg (6th best).
