VBA Round 25 (Regular Season): Buffaloes lose to Dolphins

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game between second ranked Buffaloes (11-6) and fourth ranked Dolphins (10-7) was the most important one in the last round on Tuesday night. Buffaloes were crushed by Dolphins in Hanoi 72-100. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Buffaloes. They outrebounded Buffaloes 50-36 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Dolphins looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Mykal Jenkins (202-2000, college: St.Petersburg) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 18 rebounds. Center Dominique Tham (195-1996, college: Mount Olive) contributed with 21 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Hassan Thomas (203-1996, college: Emporia St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists for Buffaloes. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dolphins moved-up to third place, which they share with Catfish. Buffaloes at the other side keep the second position with six games lost. Dolphins is looking forward to face Dragons (#5) in Danang in the next round. Buffaloes will play at home against Catfish and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 25 bottom-ranked City Wings were beaten by Dragons on the road 91-80.




Dragons - City Wings 91-80

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Dragons' (6-12) home victory over bottom-ranked Wings (2-16) in Danang 91-80 on Monday. Dragons forced 21 City Wings turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by City Wings' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Marquis Davison (196-2000, college: Columbus St., agency: Worldwide SM) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. International Hieu Minh Tran Minh (186-1998) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Forward Tim De Kok (190-2006) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Maurice Gordon (198-1999, college: Valdosta St.) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for City Wings. Wings' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dragons maintains fifth place with 6-12 record. City Wings at the other side stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Dragons are looking forward to face higher ranked Dolphins (#4) in Nha Trang in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. City Wings will have a break next round.
