Bryan Nguyen gets MVP of the Week award for Vietnamese VBA (by Hoops Agents)

American Bryan Nguyen (178-PG-2000) had a great game in the last round for Danang Dragons and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 24-year old playmaker had a double-double of 40 points and 12 rebounds, while his team edged out City Wings (#6, 2-15) 96-93. Dragons maintains the 5th position in Vietnamese VBA. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Dragons have already lost 12 games and recorded just five victories. In the team's last game Nguyen had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 11 attempts. He turned to be Dragons' top player in his first season with the team. University of Alaska Fairbanks graduate has very impressive stats this year. Nguyen is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 6.8apg) and averages solid 2.8spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Maurice Gordon (198-F-1999) of Ho Chi Minh City Wings. Gordon impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 38 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Wings was edged by slightly higher-ranked Dragons (#5, 5-12) 96-93. City Wings are still at the very bottom. 15 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Wings managed to get this year. Gordon is a newcomer at City Wings and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.9ppg (#8). He also registered 10.2 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Hassan Thomas (203-F-1996) of second-ranked Hanoi Buffaloes. Thomas showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Buffaloes, leading his team to a 89-82 win against #3 ranked Catfish in a game of the week. Buffaloes needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 5 lost games. Thomas has a great season in Vietnam. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.3ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 11.3rpg (8th best).

9. Elijah Weaver (197-G/F-1998) of Heat - 12 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists
10. Vinh Nguyen Huynh Phu (203-F/C-1998) of Heat - 12 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
