Jenkins number one in Vietnam VBA for round 23

American Forward Mykal Jenkins (202-F-2000) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Nhatrang Dolphins, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 23.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 39 points and 16 rebounds, while his team in a lost game to Buffaloes (#2, 11-5) 80-81. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Dolphins maintains the 4th position in Vietnamese VBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Dolphins will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 9-7 record. Jenkins turned to be Dolphins' top player in his first season with the team. Former St. Petersburg College star has very solid stats this year. Jenkins is in league's top in points (3rd best: 23.4ppg) and averages impressive 1.4bpg and 60.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Chrishon Briggs (195-F-1995) of Ho Chi Minh City Wings. Briggs had a very good evening with a double-double of 38 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Wings cruised to a 97-88 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Dragons (#5, 4-12). Despite this victory they still are dead at the bottom. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Wings managed to get this year. Briggs is a newcomer at City Wings, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.5ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 12.5rpg and 3.5apg. Former California State University Bakersfield star Briggs is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Ruot Monyyong (210-F-1998) of league's second-best Hanoi Buffaloes. Monyyong scored 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Buffaloes, leading his team to a 81-80 win against #4 ranked Dolphins in a game of the week. Buffaloes needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 5 lost games. Monyyong has a great season in Vietnam. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 14.0rpg (2nd best). He also has 2.3bpg and a FGP of 61.8%.

9. Hieu Minh Tran Minh (186-PF-1998) of Dragons - 11 points and 5 rebounds
10. Bryan Nguyen (178-PG-2000) of Dragons - 10 points and 13 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
