Hassan Thomas gets MVP of the Week award for Vietnamese VBA (by Hoops Agents)

American Hassan Thomas (203-F-1996) had an amazing evening in the last round for Hanoi Buffaloes and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 28-year old forward had a double-double of 34 points and 14 rebounds, while his team crushed City Wings (#6, 1-14) with 20-point margin 111-91. Buffaloes maintains the 3rd position in Vietnamese VBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Buffaloes will need more victories to improve their 9-5 record. In the team's last game Thomas had a remarkable 73.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Buffaloes' top player in his first season with the team. Emporia State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Thomas is in league's top in points (5th best: 22.2ppg) and rebounds (8th best: 11.6rpg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Chrishon Briggs (195-F-1995) of Ho Chi Minh City Wings. Briggs impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 42 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Wings lost that game 91-111 to the higher-ranked Buffaloes (#3, 9-5). City Wings are still at the very bottom. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Wings managed to get this year. Briggs is a newcomer at City Wings and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.9ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 12.5rpg and 3.4apg. California State University Bakersfield alumni Briggs played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was another Buffaloes' star - American Ruot Monyyong (210-F-1998). Monyyong showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, 18 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. He was another key player of Hanoi Buffaloes, helping his team with a 111-91 easy win against the lower-ranked City Wings (#6, 1-14). Buffaloes needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 5 lost games. Monyyong has a great season in Vietnam. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 14.1rpg (2nd best). He also has 2.4bpg and a FGP of 61.1%.
