VBA Round 19 (Regular Season): Catfish is upset by Dolphins

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game between second ranked Catfish (8-4) and fourth ranked Dolphins (7-6) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Catfish was defeated by Dolphins in Nha Trang 82-64. Dolphins outrebounded Catfish 54-39 including 19 on the offensive glass. British forward Joe Mvuezolo (197-1996, college: Montana St.) fired 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Mykal Jenkins (202-2000, college: St.Petersburg) chipped in 18 points and 20 rebounds. Dolphins' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ukrainian forward Yevgen Sakhniuk (201-1995, college: Jefferson) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Dolphins maintains fourth place with 7-6 record. Catfish at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Dolphins are looking forward to face bottom-ranked City Wings (#6) in Ho Chi Minh in the next round. Catfish will play at home against the league's leader Heat (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Buffaloes - Dragons 91-82

There was no surprise in Hanoi where 5th ranked Dragons (4-9) were defeated by third ranked Buffaloes (8-5) 91-82 on Sunday. The game was dominated by American players. Guard George Peterson (188-1995, college: WCU) fired 29 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Forward Hassan Thomas (203-1996, college: Emporia St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Buffaloes' coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Max Lee Allen (206-2002, college: Marist) produced 34 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Bryan Nguyen (178-2000, college: Alaska) added 19 points and 11 assists respectively for lost side. Buffaloes maintains third place with 8-5 record having seven points less than leader Heat. Loser Dragons keep the fifth position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
