An exciting game was played in Saigon. First ranked Heat faced 3rd ranked Dolphins. Host Heat (11-3) smashed guests from Nha Trang (6-5) 88-65. Heat looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Canadian forward Jevonnie Scott (201-2000, college: Brock) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American swingman Elijah Weaver (197-1998, college: Chicago St.) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Mykal Jenkins (202-2000, college: St.Petersburg) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 11-3 record. Dolphins at the other side dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. Heat are looking forward to face Dragons (#5) in Danang in the next round. Dolphins will play on the road against the league's second-placed Catfish in Can Tho and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 16 bottom-ranked City Wings were defeated by Buffaloes in Hanoi 96-83.

There was no surprise in Hanoi where 6th ranked Wings (1-11) were defeated by third ranked Buffaloes (7-4) 96-83 on Sunday. Buffaloes dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Wings' 42. American forward Ruot Monyyong (210-1998, college: UALR) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. The other American import guard George Peterson (188-1995, college: WCU) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Buffaloes' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Chrishon Briggs (195-1995, college: CSUB) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Khoa Dang Tran Dang (183-1997) added 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side.
