Sakhniuk number one in Vietnam VBA for round 14 (by Hoops Agents)

Ukrainian Forward Yevgen Sakhniuk (201-F-1995) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Can Tho Catfish, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 18 rebounds, while his team edged out City Wings (#6, 1-9) 81-80. Catfish maintains the 2nd position in Vietnamese VBA. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Catfish will need more victories to improve their 7-2 record. Sakhniuk turned to be Catfish's top player in his first season with the team. Former Jefferson University star has very solid stats this year. Sakhniuk is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 12.3rpg), assists (2nd best: 6.4apg) and averages impressive 1.9bpg and 67.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Mykal Jenkins (202-F-2000) of Nhatrang Dolphins. Jenkins had a very good evening with a double-double of 32 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Dolphins lost that game 75-84 to slightly higher-ranked Heat (#1, 10-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Dolphins still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 6-4 record is not bad at all. Jenkins is a newcomer at Dolphins, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.5ppg (#3). He also registered 15.3 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Chrishon Briggs (195-F-1995) of Ho Chi Minh City Wings (#6). Briggs showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, 16 rebounds (!!!) and 7 assists in the last round. Despite Briggs' great performance the Wings lost 80-81 to the higher-ranked Catfish (#2, 7-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. City Wings can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-9 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Briggs has individually a great season in Vietnam. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 27.5ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 13.1rpg (3rd best). Briggs attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

10. Tim Waale (191-F-1998) of Heat - 15 points and 5 rebounds
