Fifth-ranked Wings (1-9) gave a tough game to second ranked Catfish (7-2) in Ho Chi Minh on Tuesday. The visitors from Can Tho managed to secure only one-point victory 81-80. However their fans expected easier game. Catfish made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Ukrainian forward Yevgen Sakhniuk (201-1995, college: Jefferson) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Dakota Zinser (191-1995, college: PBA) chipped in 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. American forward Chrishon Briggs (195-1995, college: CSUB) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists. Catfish have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-2 record having seven points less than leader Heat. City Wings lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with nine games lost. Catfish are looking forward to face Dragons (#5) in Danang in the next round. City Wings will play on the road against Buffaloes in Hanoi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Even a double-double of 32 points and 17 rebounds by American forward Mykal Jenkins (202-2000, college: St.Petersburg) did not help to save the game for Dolphins. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 10-3 record. Dolphins at the other side keep the third place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
