Allen number one in Vietnam VBA for round 8 (by Hoops Agents)

American Center Max Lee Allen (206-C-2002) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Danang Dragons, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 22-year old player had a double-double of 43 points and 11 rebounds, while his team in a lost game to Heat (#1, 6-1) 84-88. Dragons maintains the 6th position in Vietnamese VBA. They are still not able to win a single game in the league yet. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 6 games and recorded no victories. In the team's last game Allen had a remarkable 64.3% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Dragons, through which he has constantly improved. Former Marist College star has very solid stats this year. Allen is in league's top in points (3rd best: 26.0ppg), rebounds (8th best: 10.8rpg) and averages impressive 52.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Chrishon Briggs (195-F-1995) of Ho Chi Minh City Wings. Briggs had a very good evening with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Wings was edged by the higher-ranked Catfish (#2, 4-1) 82-81. City Wings managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. 5 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Briggs is one of the most experienced players at City Wings and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.2ppg (#1). He also registered 11.8 boards per game. Former California State University Bakersfield star Briggs is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was Ukrainian forward Yevgen Sakhniuk (201-F-1995) of league's second-best Can Tho Catfish. Sakhniuk showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 11 assists (!!!) in the last round. He was a key player of Catfish, leading his team to a 82-81 win against City Wings (#5, 0-5). Catfish is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 4-1 record is not that bad... Sakhniuk has a great season in Vietnam. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.0rpg (9th best) and assists with 7.4apg (2nd best).

9. Dakota Zinser (191-G-1995) of Catfish - 16 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Maurice Gordon (198-F-1999) of City Wings - 17 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
