VBA top team - Heat (5-1) added another victory to their record on Thursday. This time they beat fifth ranked Wings (0-4) in Ho Chi Minh 85-81. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian forward Jevonnie Scott (201-2000, college: Brock) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. American swingman Elijah Weaver (197-1998, college: Chicago St.) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American forward Chrishon Briggs (195-1995, college: CSUB) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds for City Wings. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-1 record. City Wings at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Heat are looking forward to face Catfish (#3) in Can Tho in the next round, which may be the game of the day. City Wings will play at home against Catfish and hope to get finally their first victory.
Bottom-ranked Dragons is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to third ranked Dolphins (4-1) 90-86. It was a great evening for American forward Mykal Jenkins (202-2000, college: St.Petersburg) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds. Joe Mvuezolo helped adding 27 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Marquis Davison (196-2000, college: Columbus St., agency: Worldwide SM) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dolphins moved-up to second place. Dragons at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
