Sakhniuk number one in Vietnam VBA for round 5

Ukrainian Forward Yevgen Sakhniuk (201-F-1995) had a very impressive game in the last round for Can Tho Catfish, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team City Wings (#5, 0-3) with 19-point margin 93-74. Catfish maintains the 3rd position in Vietnamese VBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Catfish will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. Sakhniuk has many years of experience at Catfish, through which he has constantly improved. Former Jefferson University star has very solid stats this year. Sakhniuk is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 6.7apg) and averages impressive 2.0bpg,2.3spg and 68.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Chrishon Briggs (195-F-1995) of Ho Chi Minh City Wings. Briggs had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Wings lost that game 74-93 to slightly higher-ranked Catfish (#3, 2-1). City Wings managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. 3 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Briggs is one of the most experienced players at City Wings and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.7ppg (#2). He also registered 12.7 boards per game. Former California State University Bakersfield star Briggs is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Ruot Monyyong (210-F-1998) of Hanoi Buffaloes (#4). Monyyong scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Buffaloes, leading his team to a 78-60 easy win against #1 ranked Heat in a game of the week. The chances of Buffaloes ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Monyyong could help Buffaloes to bring them higher in the standings. The season just started for Monyyong as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.

8. Khoa Le Khac Dang (188-SF-2003) of Catfish - 15 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Hassan Thomas (203-F-1996) of Buffaloes - 11 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Elijah Weaver (197-G/F-1998) of Heat - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
