VBA Round 5 (Regular Season): Undefeated Heat loses their first game against Buffaloes

After 5 rounds played we can already see who rules in the VBA and who belongs to weaker ones. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Heat (4-1) in Saigon on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Buffaloes (2-3) 78-60. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Heat. Buffaloes dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Heat's 26. Buffaloes looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Ruot Monyyong (210-1998, college: UALR) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Hassan Thomas (203-1996, college: Emporia St.) chipped in 11 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists. Buffaloes' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Elijah Weaver (197-1998, college: Chicago St.) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Buffaloes maintains fourth place with 2-3 record. Defending champion Heat still keeps top position with one game lost. Buffaloes are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Dragons (#6) in Danang in the next round. Heat will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked Wings (0-3) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their third consecutive match to third ranked Catfish (2-1) 93-74. Ukrainian forward Yevgen Sakhniuk (201-1995, college: Jefferson) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and Dakota Zinser accounted for 19 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. American forward Chrishon Briggs (195-1995, college: CSUB) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds for City Wings in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Catfish maintains third place with 2-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Heat. City Wings at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Dragons. Catfish will play against league's second-placed Dolphins in Nha Trang in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. City Wings will have a break next round.

American forward Chrishon Briggs (195-1995, college: CSUB) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Maurice Gordon (198-1999, college: Valdosta St.) added 17 points and 15 rebounds respectively for City Wings in the defeat.
