An exciting game was played in Can Tho. Catfish faced Buffaloes. Host Catfish (0-1) defeated guests from Hanoi (1-2) 74-68. Catfish outrebounded Buffaloes 51-38 including 39 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Tam Dinh Thanh (192-1990) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Dakota Zinser (191-1995, college: PBA) chipped in 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Hassan Thomas (203-1996, college: Emporia St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. Buffaloes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game in Danang was also worth to mention about. Dolphins (2-0) played at the court of Dragons (0-2). Dolphins did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 85-68. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for forward Mykal Jenkins (202-2000, college: St.Petersburg) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds. Dominique Tham contributed with 16 points and 20 rebounds for the winners. Guard Marquis Davison (196-2000, college: Columbus St., agency: Worldwide SM) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists for Dragons. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dolphins will play against City Wings (#5) in Ho Chi Minh in the next round. Dragons will play at home against Heat and hope to get finally their first victory.
