VBA Round 28: Heat loses to Warriors

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in VBA. Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most important game in the last round took place in Hanoi between second ranked Heat (12-4) and fourth ranked Warriors (10-7) on Sunday night. Heat was defeated by Warriors on the road 68-82. Warriors outrebounded Heat 53-34 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward John Fields (205-1988, college: Tennessee, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Sameen Swint (193-1995, college: GBC) contributed with 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Warriors' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) replied with 40 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks for Heat. Warriors maintains fourth position with 10-7 record. Defending champion Heat keeps the second place with four games lost. Warriors are looking forward to face Catfish (#5) in Can Tho in the next round. Heat will play at home against Dragons and is hoping to win this game.

In the last game of round 28 Catfish was beaten by Dolphins on the road 77-70.
The most impressive performance of 28th round was 26 points and 13 rebounds by Dominique Tham of Dolphins.



Warriors - Saigon Heat 82-68

Dolphins - Catfish 77-70

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Dolphins (10-6) beat 6th ranked Catfish (6-10) in Nha Trang 77-70 on Tuesday. American players dominated also this game. It was a very good performance for center Dominique Tham (195-1996, college: Mount Olive) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Madarious Gibbs (185-1993, college: Texas Southern) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Forward Joshua Keyes (201-1995, college: Muskingum, agency: PBAplayers Agency) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Brachon Griffin (185-1992, college: ECSU) added 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Catfish. Catfish's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dolphins have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 10-6 record having four points less than leader Buffaloes. Catfish at the other side dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. Dolphins will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Catfish will play at home against Warriors (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
