January number one in Vietnam VBA for round 26

American Power forward Anthony January (204-PF-1993, agency: Interperformances) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Buffaloes, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 26.
The 30-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 16 rebounds, while his team edged out Saigon Heat (#2, 12-3) 81-79. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Buffaloes to take over top position in the Vietnamese VBA. Buffaloes have a solid 13-3 record. In the team's last game January had a remarkable 56.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Buffaloes' top player in his first season with the team. Former California State University San Bernardino star has very solid stats this year. January is in league's top in points (3rd best: 27.4ppg) and rebounds (3rd best: 16.1rpg).

The second best player in last round's games was young American Kentrell Barkley (195-G/F-1996, agency: Haylett Sports) of league's second-best Saigon Heat. Barkley had a very good evening with a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Saigon Heat was edged by slightly higher-ranked Buffaloes (#1, 13-3) 81-79. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Saigon Heat still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. It was just his team's 3rd loss this season, while they won 12 other games. Barkley is a newcomer at Saigon Heat, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 29.8ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 16.5rpg and 6.7apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard JR Holder (198-SG-1994) of Dragons (#7). Holder got into 30-points club by scoring 40 points in the last round. He went also for ten rebounds and four assists. Despite Holder's great performance Dragons lost 105-108 to the higher-ranked Dolphins (#3, 10-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Dragons can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 16 games. Holder has a very solid season. In 10 games in Vietnam he scored 20.1ppg. He also has 6.5rpg and FGP: 52.7%.
