John Fields gets MVP of the Week award for Vietnamese VBA (by Hoops Agents)- August 11, 2023
The 35-year old power forward had a double-double of 28 points and eighteen rebounds, while his team beat Buffaloes (#2, 10-3) 95-90. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Warriors maintains the 3rd position in Vietnamese VBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Warriors will need more victories to improve their 9-5 record. Fields turned to be Warriors' top player in his first season with the team. University of Tennessee graduate has very impressive stats this year. Fields is in league's top in points (7th best: 23.4ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 17.3rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 71.1% FGP. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Jeremy Smith (190-G-1991) of City Wings. Smith impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 18 rebounds. Of course he led City Wings to another comfortable win outscoring Dragons (#7, 0-13) 101-70. City Wings' 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-8 record. Smith is a newcomer at City Wings and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.4ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 10.3rpg and 4.9apg. The third best performed player last round was another Warriors' star - American Sameen Swint (193-G-1995). Swint got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds and nine assists. He was another key player of Warriors, helping his team with a 95-90 win against #2 ranked Buffaloes in a game of the week. Warriors needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 5 lost games. Swint has a great season in Vietnam. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.6ppg (3rd best) and assists with 6.3apg (4th best). He also has 2.6spg and and 3PT: 41.4%. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
