Barkley number one in Vietnam VBA for round 14 (by Hoops Agents)

American Swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-G/F-1996, agency: Haylett Sports) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Saigon Heat, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 41 points and 16 rebounds, while his team edged out Dolphins (#3, 6-3) 94-90. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Saigon Heat to consolidate first place in the Vietnamese VBA. Saigon Heat have a solid 8-1 record. In the team's last game Barkley had a remarkable 60.9% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Saigon Heat, through which he has constantly improved. Former East Carolina University star has very solid stats this year. Barkley is league's best scorer averaging so far 30.7ppg and leads league in rebounds with 19.6rpg. Barkley is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 7.6apg) and averages impressive 64.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American John Fields (205-F/C-1988, agency: Octagon Europe) of Warriors. Fields had a very good evening with a double-double of 30 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Warriors was edged by slightly higher-ranked Buffaloes (#2, 7-2) 82-78. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Warriors still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-5 record. Fields is one of the most experienced players at Warriors and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.8ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 16.9rpg and 3.2apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center DeAngelo Hamilton (203-C-1990) of Catfish (#6). Hamilton showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, sixteen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. Despite Hamilton's great performance Catfish lost 81-86 to slightly higher-ranked City Wings (#5, 3-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Catfish can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-6 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Hamilton has individually a great season in Vietnam. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.9rpg (6th best). He also has 2.4bpg and FGP: 52.4%.
