Heat defeated Dragons in Saigon 97-91. Heat looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 18 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import forward Hassan Thomas (203-1996, college: Emporia St.) helped adding 28 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American point guard Jermaine Marrow (183-1997, college: Hampton) with 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Dragons will play next round against strong Buffaloes trying to get back on the winning streak. Heat will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Wings (1-1) in Ho Chi Minh. Hosts were edged by Warriors (2-0) 80-77. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward John Fields (205-1988, college: Tennessee, agency: Octagon Europe) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Sameen Swint accounted for 22 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. American guard Jeremy Smith (190-1991, college: Nicholls St.) came up with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Wings in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
