Danang Dragons land Akeem Scott- June 10, 2021
Scott also represented Jamaica at the Centrobasket in San Juan (Puerto Rico) nine years ago. His team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 6 games: 11.7ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.8apg, Steals-4 (2.2spg), FGP: 48.4%, 3PT: 35.5%, FT: 70.0%. He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball Scott experienced life in eleven different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Scott has played previously professionally in Chile (Universidad de Concepcion and AB Ancud), Finland (Espoo Honka, Korihait, PuHu Juniorit and Lappeenranta NMKY), Latvia (Ventspils), Mexico (Venados, Pioneros and Laguneros), Montenegro (Mornar Bar), Uruguay (Bigua), Venezuela (Guaiqueries), SEBL (Baseline), NBA G League (NAZ Suns) and Vietnam (Saigon Heat). Among many awards His team made it to the Mexican CIBACOPA Semifinals in 2018. Scott was voted to USBasket.com All-NBL Canada Honorable Mention in 2020. He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which Scott may end at Danang Dragons. He attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on Scott way to pro basketball. He attended High Point University until 2006 and it will be his 16th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
