Top ranked HCMC W. (8-6) recorded its sixth loss in Hochiminh on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Danang D. (5-9) 75-69. Danang D. forced 19 HCMC W. turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Anthony January (203-93, college: CS San Bernar.) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized American point guard Horace Nguyen (178, college: Bristol) chipped in 20 points. American forward Wayne Martin (201-93, college: Tennessee St.) produced a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds for the hosts. HCMC W.'s coach Predrag Lukic rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Danang D. maintains sixth place with 5-9 record. HCMC W. at the other side dropped to the second position with six games lost. They share it with Saigon H.. Danang D. are looking forward to face higher ranked Saigon Heat (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. HCMC W. will play against Hanoi B. and is hoping to win this game.

It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Thang Long W.. American power forward DeAngelo Hamilton (203-90, college: WSU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 20 rebounds, 7 assists and 9 blocks. Tam Dinh-Thanh contributed with 22 points for the winners. American forward Zach Allmon (203, college: Vanguard) answered with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 20 rebounds for Thang Long W.Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-5 record. Thang Long W. at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Hanoi B..
The game in Danang was also quite interesting. Third ranked Saigon Heat (8-6) played at the court of 6th ranked Danang D. (5-9). Saigon Heat managed to secure a 8-point victory 70-62 on Sunday. It was a great evening for Nix Tavarion who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Anthony January responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 17 rebounds. Danang D.'s coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Saigon Heat moved-up to second place, which they share with HCMC W. Loser Danang D. stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Saigon Heat's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Saigon to the arena .
