VBA Round 3: Saigon Heat defeats Thang Long W. in the game between Top 4 teams

An interesting game for Saigon Heat (4-1) which played road game in against Thang Long W. (2-2). Saigon Heat managed to get a 8-point victory 64-56. It was a good game for American guard Richard Nguyen (, college: Pierce JC) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import Nix Tavarion (201-92, college: Midwestern St.) contributed with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Saigon Heat's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Jaywuan Hill (203-89, college: SW Baptist, agency: AgainHello) answered with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for Thang Long W.Saigon Heat are looking forward to face HCMC W. in Hochiminh in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. It was a great evening for American forward Wayne Martin (201-93, college: Tennessee St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 22 rebounds and 4 assists. Vinh Nguyen-Quang helped adding 17 points and 5 rebounds. HCMC W.'s coach Predrag Lukic used entire bench in such tough game. The best for the losing side was swingman Tam Dinh-Thanh (192-95) with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. HCMC W. will play against Saigon Heat on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Can Tho CF will play against Thang Long W. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a great evening for American forward Anthony January (203-93, college: CS San Bernar.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 27 rebounds. Naturalized American point guard Horace Nguyen (178, college: Bristol) helped adding 18 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American power forward Jameel McKay (206-92, college: Iowa St.) with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 21 rebounds and 5 blocks and forward Cong Dinh Tien (182-96) scored 19 points. Five Danang D. and four Hanoi B. players scored in double figures. Hanoi B.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Danang D. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hanoi B. will play on the road against HCMC W. (#1) in Hochiminh to get more than just one victory in their record.
