Saigon Heat (VBA) landed 29-year old American power forward Travele Jones (203-88, college: Texas Southern). He played most recently at Nift Al-Janoub in Iraqi Superleague. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Iraqi League Honorable Mention. Jones also played that season for Atletico Welcome in Uruguayan LUB where in three games he averaged impressive 16.3ppg, 10.0rpg, 1.3apg and 2.0spg last season.
Among other achievements Jones' team won SWAC Regular Season in 2011. He received also All-SWAC Player of the Year award and All-SWAC 1st Team award back in 2011 at his college time.
Jones is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in five different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Jones has played previously professionally in Belgium (VOO Verviers Pepinster), Chile (Los Leones), Greece (Arkadikos), Japan (Sendai 89ers and Aomori Watts) and Switzerland (Massagno).
He attended Texas Southern University until 2011 and it will be his seventh season in pro basketball.
