Saigon Heat (ASEAN League) signed 32-year old American center Justin Howard (208-127kg-81, college: Mercer). He started the season at Chang Thailand Slammers in Thailand ASEAN League. In two games he had 12.5ppg, 12.5rpg and 3.0bpg this season. The most of last season Howard spent at BG Karlsruhe (ProA) in German league. In 25 games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.3ppg and 10.3rpg (leader !!!). Great season as he was voted All-German 2.Bundesliga Pro A Center of the Year, named to 1st Team and named to All-Imports Team. He also spent pre-season at UU-Korihait (Korisliiga) in Finnish league earlier that year.
The previous (10-11) season Howard played at River Andorra (LEB Silver) in Spanish league. In 28 games he recorded 10.5ppg and 6.9rpg. He helped them to make it to the final.
In 2009-10 season Howard played at CB Guadalajara (EBA) in Spanish league. In 19 games he recorded 14.1ppg and 8.3rpg (#3 in the league). A very spectacular season in his career as he was named to All-Spanish LEB Silver Honorable Mention.
He is quite experienced player. Howard has played also professionally in Argentina (GECR Indalo), Chile, Mexico (Marineros, Halcones Rojos and Fuerza Guinda Nogales) and Syria (Al Jaish).
He attended Mercer University until 2003 and it is his tenth season as a professional player.
Howard could be described: Justin is an extremely big player. Not only is he tall (209cm) But he also has a very wide and strong body. It is almost impossible to push him out of the paint once he establishes position. He is a hard worker who gets up and down the court well (when in condition) for a player his size. A true 5 man who has the potential.

Meralco-Pilipinas opens Champions Cup campaign with loss to Mono Vampire - 2 months ago
Meralco-Pilipinas started its campaign in the 2018 FIBA Asia Champions Cup on the wrong foot, dropping its first game to home team Mono Vampire of Thailand, 100-92, at Stadium 29 in Bangkok. Playing with a lineup decimated by injuries and eligibility woes, Meralco-Pilipinas relied heavily on imports Allen Durham (198-F/C-88, college: Grace Bible) and Louise Stone (183-G-94) and point guard Baser Amer (180-PG-92) to contribute on offense. But the Meralco-Pilipinas had no answer for Mono Va...   [read more]
