Qatar coasted past Uzbekistan on the first day of action at World Military Championship in Brazil. Qatar improved at 1-0 record in preliminary Group B. Ali Turki (201-F-82) delivered 20 points to lead the winners.
Qatar stormed past Uzbekistan in the first half. They held Uzbekistan to 9 points in the starting quarter to take a 27:9 lead. Qatar opened the second quarter with a 15:2 rally to enlarge the gap. Qatar arrived at halftime leading by 37 points 52:15. Uzbekistan tried to change the complexion of the game after the big break. They tipped off the second half with an 11:2 surge. Uzbekistan cut the deficit at 29-point mark with one quarter remaining. They unloaded 25 points in the fourth frame but it was too little too late to hope for any positive outcome. Fadi Abilmoni nailed 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in the victory. Vyacheslav Denisov (190-G-83) and Kirill Gusev (185-G-90) posted 12 points each for Uzbekistan. Samender Juginisov (202-F-87) had 8 points in the loss.

Uzbekistan finishes 4th at the International tournament in Kyrgyzstan. Kazakhstan edged Uzbekistan 87-43. Victor Verzun stepped up with 19 points and Daniar Tayekelov posted 18. Danil Miturev replied with 14 points and 17 rebounds in a loss. Uzbekistan lost also to Kyrgyzstan 42-47 and to SHOR 39-81. Uzbekistan however beat Spartak 70-56 and Yeti 55-48.   [read more]

TEMP SUMZ Revda keeps Karaulov for another season - 2 Years ago
TEMP-SUMZ-UGMK Revda (Superleague 1) re-signed experienced 35-year old naturalized Uzbekistani center Sergey Karaulov (214-115kg-82). He has played there for the last two seasons. In 27 Superleague 1 games he recorded 10.1ppg and 7.8rpg (#3 in the league) last season. Karaulov helped them to make it to the Russian Cup Semifinals. TEMP-SUMZ Revda (Superleague) agreed terms with 33-year old naturalized Uzbekistani center Sergey Karaulov (212-115kg-82). He played last season at Ural Ekaterinburg (Superleague). In 41 games he had 9.6ppg and 7.9rpg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. The previous (13-14) season Karaulov played at Ruskon-Mordovia (Higher League).
