Simmons is back at Al Sharjah, ex Bretagne

Meighan Simmons

Al Sharjah (D1) added to their roster 32-year old American guard Meighan Simmons (175cm-58kg-1992, college: Tennessee). It is actually her comeback to Sharjah as she has played here before. She played last season at Bretagne in French LFB league. In 10 games she had 8.7ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.7apg.

The previous (2022) summer she played at Gigantes in Puerto Rican league.

In 2014 she was drafted by New York Liberty (WNBA) in third round (26th overall).
The former University of Tennessee standout is in her tenth season in pro basketball.
She was a member of USA Under 19 National Team in 2011.

She is quite experienced player. Simmons' career allowed her to visit four different continents, while she played in eleven different countries. She tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America. She has played previously professionally in Israel (Maccabi Raanana), Italy (Umbertide), Poland, Puerto Rico, Romania (Arad), Russia (Sparta&K Vidnoe Moscow Region), Spain (Sant Adria), Turkey (Besiktas), WNBA (Atlanta Dream) and WBDA (Atlanta M.).

Among many awards she played in the final of Puerto Rican BSNF in 2022. She was voted to Romanian League All-Star Game back in 2015.
