Al Sharjah signs Meighan Simmons, ex Besiktas

Simmons is the second foreign player in the roster as Ukrainian Olesia Malashenko signed here earlier.
She played most recently at Besiktas in Turkish KBSL. In 23 games she averaged impressive 15.3ppg, 3.7rpg and 3.2apg last season.

she voted toSan Antonio Express-News Player of the Year back in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
The previous (2020-21) season she played at Charnay in French LFB where in 14 games she was the best scorer with remarkable 16.7ppg and recorded 2.1rpg and 1.7apg in that year.
In 2014 she was drafted by New York Liberty (WNBA) in third round (26th overall).

The former University of Tennessee star is in her ninth season in pro basketball.
She is a very experienced player. She has played also professionally in Israel (Maccabi Raanana), Italy (Umbertide), Poland, Romania (Arad), Russia (Spartak Vidnoye), Spain (Sant Adria), WNBA (Atlanta Dream) and WBDA (Atlanta M.).
