There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with derby games and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most interesting game of round 13 was a home defeat of 6th ranked Banijas (5-7) by fifth ranked Al Bataeh (6-6) who outscored them by 18 points 89-71 in the game for the fifth place. Al Bataeh maintains fifth place with 6-6 record. Banijas at the other side keep the sixth position with seven games lost.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Al Sharjah (9-3) against fourth ranked Al Wasl (9-3) on Thursday night. Visiting Al Sharjah was defeated by Al Wasl in a tough game in Dubai 94-98. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Al Sharjah. Al Wasl have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Al Sharjah.
D1 top team - Al Naser (12-0) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Al Ain (0-12) 96-67. Undefeated Al Naser have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-0 record. Newly promoted Al Ain still closes the standings with 12 games lost.
The game in supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Ahli Shabab (11-1) played at the court of 7th ranked Al Dhafra (3-9). Ahli Shabab smashed Al Dhafra 88-65. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Ahli Shabab. Defending champion maintains second place with 11-1 record behind leader Al Naser. Newly promoted Al Dhafra keeps the seventh position with nine games lost.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Abu Dhabi: Al Jazeera (#8) and Al Wahda (#9). Al Jazeera (3-9) crushed visiting Al Wahda (2-10) by 16 points 105-89. Al Jazeera moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Al Dhafra. Al Wahda lost their fifth game in a row. Al Wahda at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with ten games lost.



Banijas - Al Bataeh 71-89

Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Al Naser (13-1) in Dubai on Monday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Al Wasl (11-3) 102-96. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Al Naser. Al Wasl have an impressive six-game winning streak. Ahli Shabab Dubai (D1) signed 33-year old Bulgarian ex-international power forward Cedric Simmons (206-107kg-86, college: NC State). He joins another USA player Sammy Monroe which is already in the roster.
Simmons is a dual citizen owning also American passport. He has played for the last two seasons at Kalev/Cramo in Latvian LatEstBL. Simmons managed to play in three leagues last year

Defending champion Ahli Shabab Dubai (D1) added to their roster 33-year old American (has also Iraqi passport) forward Sammy Monroe (198-85, college: Newberry). He played recently at Homentmen in Lebanese LBL league. He helped them to make it to the Supercup final. The last season Monroe played at Al Gharafa in D1 where in 18 games he had very impressive stats: 20.3ppg, 10.1rpg, 5.8apg (top 4) and 1.8spg.
