Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

D1 top team - Al Naser (10-0) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Al Wahda (2-8) in Dubai 122-95. Undefeated Al Naser have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record. Al Wahda lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Al Jazeera. Al Naser are looking forward to face Al Jazeera (#8) in Abu Dhabi in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al Wahda will play at home against the league's second-placed Ahli Shabab and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
Bottom-ranked Al Ain is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their tenth consecutive match to fourth ranked Al Wasl (7-3) 73-50. Al Wasl maintains fourth position with 7-3 record. Newly promoted Al Ain still closes the standings with ten games lost. Al Wasl will play against Al Bataeh (#5) in the next round. Al Ain will play against Banijas (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Ahli Shabab (9-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Al Bataeh (5-5). Ahli Shabab smashed Al Bataeh 90-64 on Thursday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Bataeh. Ahli Shabab have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 9-1 record behind leader Al Naser. Al Bataeh at the other side keeps the fifth place with five games lost. Ahli Shabab will meet Al Wahda (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al Bataeh will play against Al Wasl (#4) in Dubai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 10 Al Dhafra beat Banijas on the road 74-66. Al Sharjah destroyed Al Jazeera on its own court 89-67.



Banijas - Al Dhafra 66-74

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Al Dhafra (3-7) beat 6th ranked Banijas (4-6) in Abu Dhabi 74-66 on Thursday. Al Dhafra moved-up to seventh place. Banijas lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. Al Dhafra will meet at home higher ranked Al Sharjah (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Banijas will play against Al Ain and hope to secure a win.

Al Wasl - Al Ain 73-50

Bottom-ranked Al Ain is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their tenth consecutive match to fourth ranked Al Wasl (7-3) 73-50. Very expected game when 7th ranked Al Jazeera (2-8) was smashed on the road by third ranked Al Sharjah (8-2) 89-67 on Thursday. Al Sharjah have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-2 record having just two points less than leader Al Naser. Newly promoted Al Jazeera dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Al Wahda. Al Sharjah will meet Al Dhafra (#7) in the next round. Al Jazeera will play against the league's leader Al Naser and hope to secure a win.

Ahli Shabab Dubai (D1) signed 33-year old Bulgarian ex-international power forward Cedric Simmons (206-107kg-86, college: NC State). He joins another USA player Sammy Monroe which is already in the roster.
Simmons is a dual citizen owning also American passport. He has played for the last two seasons at Kalev/Cramo in Latvian LatEstBL. Simmons managed to play in three leagues last year

Defending champion Ahli Shabab Dubai (D1) added to their roster 33-year old American (has also Iraqi passport) forward Sammy Monroe (198-85, college: Newberry). He played recently at Homentmen in Lebanese LBL league. He helped them to make it to the Supercup final. The last season Monroe played at Al Gharafa in D1 where in 18 games he had very impressive stats: 20.3ppg, 10.1rpg, 5.8apg (top 4) and 1.8spg.
