Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Round 9 in D1 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Dubai where host Al Naser (9-0) beat league's leader Ahli Shabab (8-1) 86-79 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ahli Shabab. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Al Naser have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Defending champion Ahli Shabab dropped to the second place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Al Naser.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Abu Dhabi: Banijas (#6) and Al Jazeera (#7). Banijas (4-5) won against visiting Al Jazeera (2-7) 76-72. Banijas maintains sixth place with 4-5 record. Newly promoted Al Jazeera keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Al Wahda and Al Dhafra.
Bottom-ranked Al Ain (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 62-50 loss to fifth ranked Al Bataeh (5-4) in Al Ain on Wednesday evening. Al Bataeh have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 5-4 record. Newly promoted Al Ain still closes the standings with nine games lost.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Dubai. Local Al Wasl (6-3) outscored 8th ranked Al Dhafra (2-7) 97-47. Al Wasl maintains fourth place with 6-3 record. Al Dhafra lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost.

In the last game of round 9 Al Wahda was crushed by Al Sharjah in a road game 96-73.

Al-Ahli wins League 2018/19 title - 2 months ago
Al-Ahli have won UAE League Basketball 2018/19 as they beat Al-Nasr twice in the Final game. In game 1 Al-Ahli posted a 79-72 win in a tough opener. Last night Al-Ahli celebrated a narrow 88-85 thrilling victory to triumph in the country. Earlier in the semifinals Al-Ahli overcame Al Sharja 2-1 in the series.
