TONY MITCHELL

Instituto Atletico Central Cordoba (La Liga) agreed terms with 26-year old American forward Tony Mitchell (203-107kg-92, college: N.Texas). He played last season at Al Wasl in UAE D1 league. The last summer Mitchell played at Cocodrilos (LPB) in league where in 15 games he had very impressive stats: 16.1ppg, 8.2rpg, 2.1apg and 1.8bpg. A very spectacular season in his career as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB 2nd Team, All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week. He also played for Panteras (LPB) in Venezuela. Quite impressive season as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB 2nd Team, All-Imports Team and also here League Player of the Week. The other team Mitchell played shortly was Quisqueya in Dominican Rep. La Romana League.
In 2013 he was drafted by Detroit Pistons (NBA) in second round (37th overall). The former University of North Texas standoutis in his sixth season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Mitchell won Venezuelan LPB championship title in 2016. He was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB Defensive Player of the Year in 2016.
Mitchell represented USA at the World Championships U19 in Latvia seven years ago.
He is quite experienced player. Mitchell has played in eight different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in China (Guangxi), France (Limoges CSP Elite), Israel (Galil Gilboa and Maccabi Haifa), Philippines (Hotshots), Puerto Rico (Atleticos), NBA (Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns), Dominican Republic (Metros de Santiago and Leones de Santo Domingo) and NBA G League (Fort Wayne Mad Ants and Grand Rapids Drive).

Al-Wahda beats UAE team at 30th Dubai International Basketball Championship - 12 days ago
Al-Wahda basketball team beat the United Arab Emirates national team 85-76 in the match held Monday at Maktoum bin Mohammed Hall in Dubai as part of the 30th Dubai International Basketball Championship.
