SAM YOUNG

Al Naser Dubai (D1) added to their roster 33-year old American swingman Sam Young (198-100kg-85, college: Pittsburgh). He played last summer at ATL All-Stars (The Basketball Tournament) in the U.S. The last season Young played at Homenetmen (LBL) in league where in 39 games he was fourth best scorer with impressive 22.6ppg and averaged 7.2rpg, 1.9apg and 1.3spg. He helped them to win the league title. A very spectacular season in his career as he was named to Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League 2nd Team, All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week (2 times).
In 2009 Young was drafted by Memphis Grizzlies (NBA) in second round (36th overall). He attended University of Pittsburgh and it will be his tenth season in pro basketball.
Young played at the Arab Club Championships Winner last year.
He is quite experienced player. Young's career allowed him to visit five different continents, while he played in eight different countries. Young tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Australia (Kings), China (Guizhou), Italy (Deco), Mexico (Halcones UV Xalapa), Puerto Rico (Vaqueros), Turkey (Usak Sportlif), NBA (Philadelphia 76ers, San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers) and Dominican Republic (Caneros Del Este and San Sebastian).
On Young: Sam Young is a talented, gritty scorer and rebounder who displays outstanding competitiveness. Young has a good understanding of the game and fits perfectly into any team system. Young has showed his athleticism with spectacular dunks, thundering rebounds and surprising blocks. A power forward, Young can score inside or outside, is super athletic, plays good defense and gets up on the glass.
