Chanita Jordan (ex Ponce) agreed terms with Banijas

Banijas Abu Dhabi (D1) inked 27-year old American center Chanita Jordan (196-87, college: Bowie State, agency: Gamble Sports Management). Jordan managed to play in four leagues in two countries last year (!!!). She played in the summer at Leonas de Ponce in Puerto Rican BSNF. A very good season in her career as she was awarded Latinbasket.com All-Puerto Rican BSNF Defensive Player of the Year and voted to 1st Team and voted to All-Imports Team. The last season she played at Olimpia GrGAU (Premier League) in Belarus. The team played in three different competitions that year, and Jordan was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 18 Premier League games she recorded 12.1ppg, 9.4rpg (#4 in the league) and 1.0spg. She helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals. It was a very successful season in her career as she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Belarusian League 1st Team. Jordan also played 1 game in Eurocup where she had 10 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block. She also played 7 games in Baltic League where she averaged 9.7ppg, 8.9rpg and 1.1spg.
The previous (12-13) season Jordan played at evo New Basket Oberhausen (DBBL) in German league. In 23 games she averaged 8.9ppg, 9.2rpg (#3 in the league), 1.1spg and 2.0bpg in 2012-13 season. She contributed to her team making it to the cup final. Indeed an impressive season as she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-German DBBL Honorable Mention. Jordan won Puerto Rican BSNF championship title in 2013.
She graduated from Bowie State in 2012 and it will be her third season in pro basketball.
Jordan's game is described as: Chanita is a great defensive player who can change a game with her shot blocking ability. She can score in the post and step away from the basket to make an open jumper.
