Ahli ladies champs of 1st basketball league
Ladies of Ahli basketball club seized the title of the 1st ladies basketball league in Sharjaa. The league witnessed the participation of four teams in all and ran for about two weeks. Ahli ladies beat Zayed University team 91-40, with 51 points in difference, in the final game. Madrasat Al Ma'rifa in Sharqa were handed the bronze medal from Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammad Al Qasemi, who also crowned the top two teams with gold and silver. This league will be made every year from 2006 and will be mixed from UAE citizens and the other nationalities who lives in UAE, This league will be held by the UAE Basketball Federation & Emirates Airways. Dubai will prepare to host Women Arab clubs championship in 21st till 28th of May with the participation of 8 arab women teams in its 1st edition. Al Ahli's woman player Sandra Abu Baker took MVP of the league. |
