Al Wasl Dubai (ULB) landed 29-year old American 210cm forward Nick West (college: AAMU) for new season. West joins another USA player Stedmon Lemon who is already in the roster.
He played most recently at Shabab Al Ahli. In two West Asia Super League games in United Arab Emirates he averaged 7.5ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.5apg, 1.0spg and 2.0bpg last season.
He won UAE League championship title in 2023.
The previous (2021-22) season he played at Al Arabi in Qatari QBL where in 16 games he had very impressive stats: 17.1ppg, 13.8rpg (#3 in the league), 3.4apg, 1.6spg and 2.3bpg in that year. He helped them to win the cup. It was a very successful season in his career as he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 2nd Team and League Player of the Week (3 times).
West is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in five different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, African and of course North American leagues. West has played previously professionally also in Saudi Arabia (Al Fateh), Switzerland (Lugano), Tunisia (ES Rades), Qatar (Qatar Club) and United Arab Emirates (Al Wahda).
He graduated from Alabama A&M University in 2016 and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball. West won UAE League championship title in 2023.
