POSTED BY: Ahmad Madwar
The most of last season he spent at Shabab Al Ahli where in 6 GBA games he recorded 21.5ppg, Reb-3(15.7rpg), 3.0apg, Blocks-2(3.7bpg). Johnson contributed to his team winning the league title despite they ended the regular season at the second place. He also played for Homentmen (LBL) in Lebanese league. In 11 games he averaged 11.1ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.2bpg. Johnson contributed in the Supercup final. In 2010 (a year after he left the college) Johnson was drafted by Dakota Wizards (D-League) in first round (9th overall). The former Louisiana State University star is in his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball. He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016. Johnson received Asia-Basket.com All-FIBA Asia Champions Cup GBA Qualifiers 2nd Team award in 2019. He is a very experienced player. Thanks to Johnson's pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in nine different countries. Johnson has played previously professionally in China (Anhui Wenyi), Croatia (Cedevita), Dominican Rep., Poland, Puerto Rico (Capitanes), Turkey (Turk Telekom), other UAE team, NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers, Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves) and NBA G League (Santa Cruz Warriors). The scouts decsribe him following way: a truly gifted and unique physical specimen who at 6’11 is as mobile and explosive as most SFs. Great motor on every possession combined with his length and explosiveness make Chris a tremendous shot-blocker, rebounder and defender. Skilled offensive player who excels with space on pick and pop, face up, slashing and put back possessions. A game changer on both ends of the floor!. By Eurobasket Data Center
