Eric Griffin
Al Naser Dubai (D1) inked 25-year old American forward Eric Griffin (203-88kg-90, college: Campbell, agency: TBS Management). He already started the season at Detroit Pistons in the NBA. The last summer Griffin played at Leones (BSN) in Puerto Rican league. In 14 games he recorded 10.1ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.3apg and 1.0bpg. The most of last (14-15) season he spent at Texas Legends in D-League. In 49 games he averaged impressive 19.0ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.9apg, 1.3spg and 2.4bpg. A very good season in his career as he was voted to All-D-League 3rd Team, All-Star Game and was invited to participate in the All-Star Game Slam Dunk Contest. Griffin also spent pre-season at the Mavericks in NBA earlier that year. His team won Puerto Rican Manuel Zeno Gandia Cup.
Griffin is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Italy (Aurora Bsk Jesi), Venezuela (Guaros), NBA (Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat) and Dominican Republic (Indios de San Francisco).
Griffin attended Campbell University until 2012 and it is his fourth season in pro basketball.
His game is described as: A slim forward, who is very athletic. Has impressive leaping ability and great timing for shot blocking end grabbing rebounds at both sides of the court. Played a great last season of college ball but all observers tell for him of a further upside, above all if he will be given playing time at professional level and if he will beef up a little.
Offensively, he is a great player in open court situations, but needs to add shooting range. Defensively, he's so quick and agile that he can guard all players from 2 to 5 positions
