The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bangkok: Coyotes (#1) and Sharks (#2). Coyotes (6-0) smashed visiting Sharks (4-2) by 16 points 108-92. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Sharks. They outrebounded Sharks 51-36 including 17 on the offensive glass. Coyotes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American guard Accheaus Fields (187-1997, college: Averett) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Day Narbonne (180) contributed with 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Kendrick Williams (182) replied with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds for Sharks. Undefeated Coyotes have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Defending champion Sharks keep the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Red Dragons. Coyotes are looking forward to face Crocodiles (#4) in the next round. Sharks will play against Red Dragons and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Crocodiles' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Manta Rays (0-4) 79-73. American guard Jamarcus Clark (196, college: BMCU) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Edzel Mag-isa chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard PJ Gill (183, college: ODU) with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Crocodiles (1-3) left bottom position moving up to fourth place. It was Manta Rays' fourth loss in a row. Manta Rays at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with four games lost. Crocodiles will play against league's leader Coyotes in Bangkok in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Manta Rays will play against Raptors (#5) and hope to get finally their first victory.
The game between third ranked Red Dragons (4-2) and 5th ranked Raptors (1-5) in Pattaya on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Red Dragons outscored guests from 112-68. American players dominated the game. Lincoln Smith notched 27 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 9 steals to lead the effort. Red Dragons' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 29 points and 22 rebounds by Darrius Austin did not help to save the game for Raptors. Red Dragons moved-up to second place, which they share with Sharks. Newly promoted Raptors keep the fifth position with five games lost. Red Dragons will meet league's second-placed Sharks in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Raptors will play against Manta Rays and hope to win that game.
