TBL Round 2: Leader SWU lose to Bangkok Tigers

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in TBL. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of SWU at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by Bangkok Tigers 90-62. Bangkok Tigers forced 20 SWU turnovers and outrebounded them 54-35 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Takamin Sirijariyaporn who scored 25 points and 4 assists. Cameroonian forward Gabriel Yeumo (200-1988) chipped in 6 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Natthaworn Banjathon (179) produced 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bangkok Tigers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Bangkok Hitech.
An exciting game was played in . Dunkin' Raptors faced Shoot it Dragon. Host Dunkin' Raptors defeated guests from 90-77. American point guard Avery Scharer (185-1986, college: Shoreline CC) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Toby Sathitsumpan contributed with 27 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Frederick Jones-Goldstein (178-1988, college: USA) replied with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 9 assists for Shoot it Dragon. Shoot it Dragon's coach Boonchai Rittiphanyawong rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Dunkin' Raptors will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shoot it Dragon will play against Thunders and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game was played in Bangkok. Hitech faced Thunders. Host Hitech smashed guests from 91-71. Adam Stanford scored 25 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Kittitep Lane Dasom responded with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitech's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bangkok to the arena Bangkok Tigers.

In the last two games of round 2 winless T-REX was crushed by TGE in a road game 77-48. Winless Mad Goat lost to undefeated Devil Rays at home 80-102.
The best stats of 2nd round was 20 points and 4 assists by Thanakrit Limjittakorn of TGE.

TGE - T-REX 77-48

TGE used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Nakhon Ratchasima 77-48 on Sunday night. TGE forced 34 T-REX turnovers. British forward Joe Mvuezolo (197-1996, college: Montana St.) scored 29 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Thanakrit Limjittakorn (181-1999) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists during the contest. Center Siwanat Chumsree responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Alex Smith (201-1988, college: BCU) scored 6 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. T-REX's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Mad Goat - Devil Rays 80-102

No shocking result in a game in Nakorn Phantom where Devil Rays smashed Mad Goat 102-80 on Sunday. Devil Rays forced 22 Mad Goat turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. International Moses Morgan (198-1992, college: CS Fullerton) had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Taishaun Johnson (183-1994, college: PVAMU) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists during the contest. Johnson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Devil Rays players scored in double figures. Devil Rays' coach S. Premprapan felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Polish Robert Kowalczyk (202-1995) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 18 rebounds and Udomchot Thiamloet scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Devil Rays will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mad Goat will play again against Devil Rays and hope to win that game.
