WTBL Round 5: Sripatum Univ. defeats Chulalongkorn in the closest game of the week

The most exciting game of round 5 in the WTBL took place in . This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Chulalongkorn (2-2) to leader Sripatum Univ. (4-0) 74-72 on Sunday evening. Sripatum Univ. have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with DPU. Chulalongkorn at the other side keeps the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Shoot It D. and BU. Sripatum Univ. is looking forward to face TOA U19 (#4) in the next round. Chulalongkorn will play against SECCO and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in . Seventh ranked BU (2-2) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 4th placed TOA U19 (3-3) 76-75 on Sunday evening. BU moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shoot It D. and Chulalongkorn. TOA U19 at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with SECCO. BU will play against league's leader DPU in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TOA U19 will play against the league's second-placed Sripatum Univ. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked SECCO (3-3) against sixth ranked Shoot It D. (2-2) on Sunday night. Host SECCO was crushed by Shoot It D. in 92-64. Shoot It D. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with BU and Chulalongkorn. Loser SECCO keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with TOA U19. Shoot It D. will meet bottom-ranked Rangsit (#9) in the next round. SECCO will play against Chulalongkorn (#6) and hope to secure a win.
WTBL top team - DPU (4-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Rangsit (0-6) 95-50. DPU have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-0 record, which they share with Sripatum Univ. Rangsit at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. DPU's next round opponent will be BU (#7) which should be theoretically another easy game. Rangsit will play against Shoot It D. and hopes to get finally their first victory.
