Hitech - Luang 88-74

Hitech outscored Luang in the opener. Hitech forced 19 Luang turnovers and had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Luang's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Avery Scharer (185-86, college: Shoreline CC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 assists and 4 steals. The former international Chanatip Jakrawan (205-97) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Scharer is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Hitech's coach Chris Daleo used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Laos guard Nouchan Thavong answered with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and American center Russell Permenter (203-88, college: Providence) added 16 points in the effort for Luang. Five Hitech and four Luang players scored in double figures.

Kabayan - PEA 78-83

PEA defeated Kabayan to surge ahead in the series. PEA had a 37-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Jamaican-American center Anthony Allen (213-92, college: Oklahoma St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international Danai Kongkum (193-85) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Australian center Emanuel Malou (206-93, college: Iowa St.) responded with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Nick Demusis (193, college: Whittier) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four PEA and five Kabayan players scored in double figures.
